Description
Caspar Suture Pusher
The Caspar suture pusher slides a knot down to tissue deep in a narrow wound. Surgeons use it when fingers cannot reach the bottom of the field, such as during microsurgical spine work.
Tying knots at depth
In a small, deep incision, tying knots by hand is difficult. Therefore, the surgeon forms the knot outside the wound. Then the pusher guides it down and snugs it onto the tissue.
Length offered
We carry the pusher in a 23 cm length. That reach suits deep spinal fields and similar narrow openings. For tip details, drop us a line so we can gauge a sample.
Where it helps
For example, a surgeon may use it to secure a suture at the annulus or deep fascia. Meanwhile, the assistant holds the suture ends taut. In addition, it can help with dural repair when space is tight.
Adding it to your set
A suture pusher pairs naturally with long needle holders and micro scissors. So, consider how you usually close in deep fields. If you often struggle to reach, this pusher can save time and effort.
Caring for your Caspar suture pusher
Rinse the tip immediately after use to remove blood and suture fibers. Next, clean the tip slot with a fine brush. Then dry the pusher completely and sterilize it.
