Description
Bone Chisels Handle From Artificial Wood
This wood-handle bone chisel sets a broad single-bevel blade in an artificial wood handle. The grip gives control when you need to level a wide area of bone.
Two widths
The chisel comes 16 mm or 20 mm wide. Both suit larger surfaces, such as a bone end or a broad graft bed. Pick 16 mm for slightly tighter spaces.
Why a handled chisel
A bare steel shank can feel thin in the hand. By contrast, this handle fills the palm and absorbs some of each blow. So the blade stays steady even when the mallet work runs long.
Choosing a wood-handle bone chisel
Use it when you want a flat, level cut rather than a split. Keep the flat back on the bone you want to save. Then let light, regular taps move the edge forward.
Handling the wider blades
Wide chisels need square, even blows to stay level. So keep the handle in line with the cut, not tilted. Also, clear chips often so the flat back can sit fully on the bone.
Wood-handle bone chisel options

- Single-bevel blade
- Artificial wood handle

Care of the handle
Clean around the ferrule where steel meets handle. Afterward, dry it fully and avoid long soaks. Replace the chisel if the handle shows cracks.
Why we check the chisel
Before shipment, a person in Atlanta handles the chisel one at a time. When the chisel shows a material flaw, we honor three years against manufacturing defects. The FAQ section addresses common order questions. To learn about stainless alloys for surgery, check ASTM F899. Many units order a spare chisel in case one is out for service. Often bought with it is the wood-handled bone gouge. Other pieces appear in the orthopedic line. We readily prepare a quote for your clinic.
