Barth Bone Curettes

Description

Barth Bone Curettes

The Barth bone curette is a double-ended curette for ENT surgery. Surgeons use it to scrape bone and remove soft tissue from bony cavities.

A curette with two ends

Each end carries a working tip. Therefore, the surgeon can flip the curette to reach a different spot. That saves a trip back to the instrument tray.

18 cm overall

We stock the Barth pattern at 18 cm long. That length gives more reach than shorter ear curettes. Please contact us if you need the exact tip sizes, since we do not list them here.

Uses in ENT surgery

Curettes help clean out diseased tissue from bony cavities, such as the mastoid. For example, surgeons may use one in mastoid or sinus work. Then they finish with finer tools where needed, because the last layers need a gentle touch.

Choosing between curettes

If you need a short, fine curette, then the 15 cm House curette may suit you. In contrast, the Barth bone curette offers extra length. Many sets carry both patterns.

Caring for your Barth curette

Rinse tissue from both ends right after surgery. Next, scrub them with a small brush under running water. Then dry the Barth bone curette and sterilize it.

Ordering Barth curettes

We sell each Barth curette with a three-year warranty, so workmanship defects are our problem. Our Atlanta team then checks every piece by hand before posting. See our FAQ entries for order help. Barth steel follows ASTM F899, a standard for instrument steel. For a shorter ear curette, view the House bone curette. Explore the rest of our ENT surgery products.
